Baby #2 is a...

GIRL!

We had our ultrasound at 18 weeks and 2 days. She weighed in at 9oz (measuring ahead a week, wonder if the due date will change..). And her heartbeat was 140BPM. She had her ankles crossed (just like her mommy and sister always do..) and had one of her hands up on the side of her head the whole time. The whole time we just kept thinking how amazing it was that we could see so much at an ultrasound.

We wanted to announce to our families in a cute way.

MY FAMILY:
For my family we made little cards that had a scratch off area that announced the gender.

I found this idea on pinterest and then altered the design of the card to be more of my liking. For the scratch off area I used acrylic paint, dish soap, and a white crayon. I mixed the paint and dish soap in a ratio of 2:1. 2 parts paint to 1 part soap. Before applying the paint I colored the area that I wanted to paint with white crayon. I then applied about 6 or 7 light layers of paint. Since I did light layers they seemed to dry pretty quickly.

JARED'S FAMILY:
For Jared's family we did a reveal cake. I made a white cake and did a double layer cake. I then took buttercream frosting and died part of it pink. I used the pink part of the cake as the middle layer of frosting.

and only having one pan the in each size makes
it a little difficult to get even layers...
Sadly, I forgot to take a picture before we
cut the cake..
