Jared and I have been taking a photography class this semester and decided that we could take Velocity's birthday pics. ourselves rather than pay for them to be done.
For her birthday photo shoot we decided to go with a cake smash. I looked at other pictures and got ideas of backdrops and cakes along with outfits. Most people use a romper but we didn't want to pay that much so instead we got some white onsies and some hot pink fabric paint. I decorated the onsie and then I made a tutu to go with it. I then found a clip and a hot pink necklace to go with the outfit.
We also didn't want to pay a bunch for the cake so I decided to make my own. I just got a white cake mix and made two small cakes with bread pans. I then cut the cake into the shape of a one, layered it, and decorated it.

After taking a few pictures of the set up we introduced Velocity to the cake.
At first she thought the cake was cool but decided that she liked the balloons a lot more.
