Jared and I are taking Cassidy & Brent's engagements this week so we are borrowing Jared's moms camera lense. Jared didn't have work or school on monday (Labor day!) and so we decided to go do a small photoshoot and test out the lens. We just went to a park that is close to our apartment and took what we could of our hyper little toddler..

After taking a bunch on the grass we decided to go down by the pond and take some pictures there. This pond has a few ducks at it.. and Velocity just happens to LOVE ducks. I'm not sure why, she hasn't ever been around any, just seen them in books and on Barney.. Anyways, as soon as she saw the water she got super excited, then she saw the ducks and was off!! I tried to keep a hold of her hand as she ran towards the ducks but somehow she was able to pull away. Now this wouldn't have been a problem, except the ducks where on the OTHER side of the pond and Velocity tried to run on (or through) the pond to get to them. I thought that maybe she would stop, or at least slow down, when she hit the water and got her feet and shoes all wet but it didn't even faze her.. She kept running until she was so deep in the water she couldn't really go any further... She then tried to turn back and kind of fell. Mom then had to go in and rescue her.. Velocity had gone in far enough that I also had to get my shoes and feet soaked in order to grab her and get her out...

After that we decided to just let her play in the water as much as she wanted and have fun. Got some pretty cute (and cool) pictures of it though!!
After letting Velocity play for awhile we decided that it was time to go (St. George heat isn't the greatest to sit in, plus it was her nap time). She wasn't too happy about this decision..
Overall I think the pictures turned out pretty great! Don't know if it was the lens, the UV like filter we had on it (the only way Jared's mom will let us borrow the lens cause she doesn't want it getting scratched), or if we are just really figuring out the lighting and such on our camera... Needless to say Jared's mom may never get her lens back ;) and we are certainly going to milk it for what it's worth.
(Side note: most of these pictures are NOT edited.. This is how they looked off of the camera. Pretty nice, huh? (a few do have small adjustments done through shotwell, the program we used to install the pictures, but none were done in photoshop or gimp)
